The 4R Plus nutrient and conservation stewardship program has recently been launched in Iowa. The goal of the program is to provide producers with expanded tools and resources to assist with conservation practice implementation that provides benefits both in-pocket and in-field. The 4R program, the foundation of the newly launched 4R Plus program, emphasizes the four principles of nutrient stewardship: right source, right rate, right time and right place. According to Greg Wandrey, Iowa agriculture program director for The Nature Conservancy, the 4R Plus program will assist, “Farmers and their advisers [to] work together to assess economic and environmental goals and make a plan to adopt practices that help them achieve those results.” For more information, click here!
