In Her Boots, an organization created in 2009, was formed on the idea of providing women farmers access to training and educational resources on topics ranging from debt to water conservation. Lisa Kivirist, event organizer and coordinator for In Her Boots, invites representatives from the USDA, the Wisconsin Farmers Union, environmental experts and industry veterans to speak at events and network with women farmer attendees. The next workshop is scheduled for August 3rd in Brodhead, Wisconsin. Topics discussed include tractors, mechanics, tools, ergonomics, farm diversification and organic certification.
